How have Dasvandh Network and Khalsa been partnerting together?

Dasvandh Network and Khalsa Aid have partened to track down much needed medical equipment - particularly oxygenators that help patients breathe. We were able to procure multiple hundred devices and have shipped them from the vendor to India. The Khalsa India team will distribute them based on need. We also were able to collectively fundraise the costs of these machines through a grassroots fundraising campaign. We marked that project as fully funded but you can find more details here.

How will the funds donated on the page be used? 

Any additional funs raised on any Khalsa Aid pages will be used at their discretion. If the funds are not used for medical equipment or in the immediate crisis happening in India, they will be leveraged for the number of current and future humanitarian aid efforts under their purview. 

Additional Context

When we entered this year, we all hoped that this global pandemic would be something we talk about in the past tense. However, the news in India is a harsh reminder that this crisis is far from over. The world watches closely as so many families are struggling to survive this recent surge, while activists work around the clock to figure out how to support the hardest hit communities. 

Khalsa Aid has time-and-time again been on the frontlines to provide humanitarian aid in disaster areas and conflict zones. Their wide network of volunteers around the world work incredibly hard to help those who need it the most in moments of crisis. Whether it’s been serving langar to protesting farmers, helping create access to clean water, or their recent worldwide effort to ship oxygen tanks and concentrators for COVID-19 patients in India, their passion for service has not wavered despite all the challenges the world continues to face.

Khalsa Aid's transparency and ongoing commitment to supporting victims of disasters is why Dasvandh Network is helping to support their work. In these trying moments, many of us want to do whatever we can to help those working on the frontlines. The need for their efforts only grows and we should do whatever we can do to help fuel life-changing work.

Khalsa Aid's Mission:

Founded in 1999, Khalsa Aid International is a global humanitarian organization founded upon the Sikh principle of “sarbhat da bhalla” the well-being of all. Khalsa Aid provides humanitarian support and disaster relief support to communities all across the globe regardless of race, religion, caste, and gender.

Khalsa Aid USA was formally established in January 2019. Khalsa Aid USA follows the same mission of Khalsa Aid International and has primarily focused on American underserved communities such as the homeless, lower income families, women, veterans, victims of abuse, etc.
