What is DasvandhWeek?

 

DasvandhWeek is our opportunity as a community to continue supporting the work of Sikh activists. It is an annual giving challenge during which donations on dvnetwork.org are MATCHED 1:1, according to the matching policy, until the matching fund is exhausted. DasvandhWeek 2024 will run from November 8th to the 17th, and donors can DOUBLE their donations to 90+ Sikh-led organizations and their projects. The matching code will be live at 12PM EST on November 8th, 2024.

*DasvandhWeek 2024 Bonus Announcement*

Codes

• We have announced a bonus code, DVBONUS24, to be added at checkout for all NEWLY STARTED MONTHLY recurring donations started during the time period of November 9th at 5:00pm ET to Sunday, November 17th, 2024.
• For monthly donations created directly on the organization or project page, DVBONUS24 will automatically applied to checkout to receive this $100 one-time bonus
• For monthly donations created through AutoDasvandh, DVBONUS24 will apply retroactively after checkout and the $100 one-time bonus will be split across your selection
• Please review the summary on the right hand side of the checkout page to ensure that it was applied correctly. We will also have reminders on the website for donors.

 

Prizes

• $7,500 “prize” to the organization/project with the most new MONTHLY donations from the point of this announcement to end of DasvandhWeek Sunday, November 17th
• $5,000 “prize” to the org/project with the second most new monthly recurring donations
• $2,500 “prize” to the org/project with the third most new monthly recurring donations

 

Limits

• $100 one-time bonus will be added to your donation to any NEW monthly donations (e.g., $50 recurring donation will get a $100 one-time bonus added to your donation).
• These bonus amounts do not apply toward the $10,000 matching fund cap per organization.This prize is in addition to any prizes for bringing in new donors. 
• Recurring donations to private projects will not qualify to receive the bonus. 
• As mentioned above, AutoDasvandh donations will not apply automatically and will be handled by the DVN team on a daily basis during DasvandhWeek.

 

Policies

• This bonus only applies to NEW monthly donations started November 9th at 5:00pm ET to 17th, 2024.
• Only a single matching code of each type will be honored from each donor per organization/project (a donor can make multiple matched donations using each code if made to distinct organizations/projects).
• If a donor cancels previously made recurring donations prior to DasvandhWeek and starts "new" recurring donations to the same organizations/projects, these "new" transactions are not considered new recurring donations. This will not be counted to receive the one-time bonus.
• If our internal committee uncovers unusual activity, we reserve the right to withdraw these funds and limit access to DasvandhWeek moving forward.

 

Disclaimer: To ensure ongoing support for your chosen organization, we ask that donors sign up for the monthly donation in good faith and you maintain your monthly donation for at least 6 months beyond the initial bonus period. Your continued contributions make a lasting impact and help sustain essential projects year-round. Thank you for your generosity and commitment!

DasvandhWeek 2024 Matching Policy

Codes

• We will be using a Matching Code, DVWEEK24, during the checkout process this year
• DVWEEK24 will be entered automatically at checkout
• Please review the summary on the right hand side of the checkout page to ensure that. the match was applied correctly. We will also have reminders on the website for donors.

 

Prizes

• $12,500 “prize” to the organization that gets the most unique donors to give in 10 days
• $7,500 “prize” to the organization that gets the second most donors to give 
• $5,000 “prize” to the organization that gets the third most donors to give 

 

Limits

• $400 single donation match limit (e.g. $1,000 donation will get a $400 match)
• Only a single $400 per donor per organization will be honored (donor can make multiple matched donations if made to unique organizations)
• Each independent organization (or independent project if not a listed organization) is capped at $10,000 in matching funds for DasvandhWeek (“prizes” don’t count towards the cap, so an organization can receive more than $10,000 if allotted a “prize”)

 

Policies

• The matching code will be active beginning at 12PM EST on November 8th, 2024.
• Matches will be made as they happen using the matching code (except for “prizes” which will be made after DasvandhWeek).
• Donations to private projects will not be matched.
• If there are multiple projects from the same organization in the cart, the match code will only apply to one of the projects.
• We reserve the right to not honor a match if it doesn't comply with our policy or terms of service.

 

Organizations that have reached the $10,000 Limit

• Sikh Council for Interfaith Relations has reached its limit on Friday,November 8th 2024.
• Educate Punjab Project has reached its limit on Friday,November 8th 2024.
• Khalsa Foundation has reached its limit on Saturday, November 9th 2024.
