Early life
Bhai Sati Das Ji was born in 1660 to a devoted Sikh family in the village of Jandiala in Punjab during the violent period of religious persecution by the Mughal Empire.
From an early age he was inspired by the teachings of Sikhism- devotion to one God, equality and selfless service which turned him into a committed sikh .
As the years passed , he wholeheartedly adopted the principles of Sikhism. He devoted his life to serving humanity and following Sikh values such as humility, compassion, and a strong connection with the divine.
Times of Persecution
During his lifetime, Sikhism faced severe persecution & oppression under the rule of Mughal Emperor - Aurangzeb . Brutal atrocities were committed against the Sikhs and they were forced to convert to Islam. Bhai Sati Das Ji and his fellow Sikhs were firm in their faith and refused to give up their beliefs.
The Ultimate Sacrifice
In 1675, Bhai Sati Das Ji along with Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, and Bhai Mati Das Ji were in Delhi's Chandni Chowk, facing a challenging trial. They showed strong determination and courage & refused to renounce their Sikh faith.
As a result of this rebel , Bhai Sati Das Ji was sentenced to death by being enclosed in a wall and burnt alive.

This holy shrine is a tribute to the sacrifices made by them who chose to keep their faith above worldly comforts.
