Dasvandh Network is a dynamic, online giving platform that connects donors with over 70 well-vetted organizations and grassroots community projects. We raised $2.1M for these nonprofits in 2022 and we’re continuing to grow. Embodying the spirit of Dasvandh, we advocate sharing part of one's earnings for societal upliftment. We strive to create a transparent, cause-agnostic donation landscape that empowers every Sikh to contribute towards high-impact initiatives that align with Sikh values and tackle societal challenges.
The Executive Director will be responsible for spearheading our strategic plan, overseeing all operational aspects, managing finances, and serving as the organization's chief spokesperson. This role requires someone who can drive our mission forward, fostering a culture of transparency and contributing towards impactful initiatives that align with Sikh values.
Responsibilities
- Drive the updating and implementation of our strategic plan, encompassing fundraising, operations, and stakeholder management, to meet our funding goals.
- Cultivate and expand partnerships with existing Sikh organizations, project leaders, and activists, ensuring they adhere to mutual governance and accountability objectives.
- Conduct grassroots engagement to inspire activists and volunteers.
- Oversee all organizational facets, including marketing, operations, technology, and financial reporting.
- Perform needs analysis on issues impacting the Sikh community and correlate with existing services to identify areas requiring support.
- Serve as our representative at major Sikh events and conferences.
- Plan and execute our annual members' conference.
- Foster and leverage strong relationships with each board member to grow the DVN board.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is required; a Master’s degree is desirable.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in non-profit management, consulting, or general business management.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and tactical execution.
- Proven expertise in growing organizations and working effectively with a board of directors or similar governing body.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record in producing communication materials.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to build trust and rapport with diverse groups.
- Proficiency in managing digital campaigns encompassing email, social media, and content marketing strategies.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and entrepreneurial, with a proven ability to work independently and virtually.
- Strong ties and credibility within the Sikh community are a plus.
- Willingness to work during evenings and weekends when necessary, with the ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
