During the reign of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, Kashmiri Pandits sought the Guru's help when they faced religious persecution and were ordered to convert to Islam . In response, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji along with several companions traveled to Delhi to meet Emperor Aurangzeb.
On reaching Delhi they were arrested and brought before the emperor. Despite immense pressure to convert, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji remained steadfast in his faith .
Martyrdom at Chandni Chowk
