The Dasvandh Network is thrilled to welcome Amrita Bamrah as our new Executive Director. Amrita is a seasoned nonprofit leader with over 10 years of experience in civil rights and racial equity work, social impact, policy and advocacy, and grassroots organizing.
By way of background, Amrita is a first-generation Sikh American woman with a deep connection to her community and a drive to make a meaningful impact. Amrita most recently held the role of U.S. Public Policy Manager at Meta, where she spearheaded the company’s engagement with U.S. advocacy groups, civil rights organizations, and Sikh nonprofits. Her work included advancing key equity and civil rights issues and creating opportunities for community members to meaningfully engage in policy discussions at the company.
Amrita’s commitment to community extends beyond corporate spaces, evident through her roles at leading nonprofit organizations including the Center for Policing Equity, Everytown for Gun Safety, and SALDEF. Throughout these experiences, Amrita focused on fostering partnerships with and uplifting grassroots communities to become changemakers. Her academic pursuits include the University of Chicago, where she obtained a Masters of Social Work, and at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Economics.
The staff and board at the Dasvandh Network expresses our heartfelt appreciation to Mandeep Singh, our outgoing Executive Director, for his dedication and tireless efforts. He has been instrumental in steering the organization to new heights. As we embrace this transition and look to this next phase with great enthusiasm, we are filled with gratitude for Mandeep’s leadership.
