Join Sikhlens in Amplifying Sikh Voices Around the World

Overview Last year, thanks to your generous contributions, Sikhlens' Community Voices program achieved remarkable success. We funded the creation of five additional films, bringing our total to eight impactful documentaries. These films have spotlighted the vital work Sikh organizations do in healthcare, education, and food security.

This year, our sights are set even higher. We aim to raise $100,000 to initiate film projects with four to six new organizations worldwide. Thanks to the overwhelming response from our community, our stretch goal will allow us to support as many of the recommended organizations as possible.

2024 Campaign Goals

$100,000 Fundraising Target: Your donations will help us produce three to four new films. Each film offers a unique glimpse into the incredible efforts of Sikh organizations worldwide.

Highlight Film Project: One of our films will feature an Old Age home in Punjab, India, providing a dignified life for older people—a story of community, resilience, and hope.

Extend Our Reach: With additional funding, we will broaden our support to more organizations, multiplying the impact of Sikh nonprofits globally.

We Need Your Support. Hit the "Donate" button to join us in this noble cause. Every contribution brings us closer to amplifying the voices that need to be heard the most.

Call for Suggestions: We are also looking for suggestions for new nonprofit organizations to support. Please send the details to Sikhlens founder Bicky Singh at [email protected].

Our Impact Films, like Silver Lining and One Beat, have not only highlighted the selfless service of Sikh individuals but also improved the fundraising capabilities and visibility of the organizations featured. With your help, we can continue to tell these important stories.

A Note from Our Founder, Bicky Singh: "Through Sikhlens, we connect impactful Sikh-led projects with global audiences. Our partnership with Chapman University's Dodge College has been instrumental in crafting films that capture the essence of selflessness and service embodied by the Sikh community. This year, help us expand this vision even further."

Your Impact:

Your donations make these stories possible. With each film, we open doors for organizations to gain new supporters and continue their fantastic work. Join us in bringing these stories to light and making a lasting impact on the Sikh community worldwide.

Thank you for your support and belief in our mission. 🙏

Sikhlens Community Voices 2024-2025: June 2025

The Sikhlens Community Voices program continues to progress toward securing $100K in funding. While we have currently raised 47% of our target amount, we have successfully wrapped production on four out of six originally planned projects and expanded our slate with two additional films.

Achieving our complete $100K fundraising objective will allow us to finish the outstanding productions while also creating possibilities to approve new innovative projects that highlight community perspectives and broaden narrative representation.

    Films Already Premiered

    Falcon Poster

Flying High-Falcons Sikh Primary School premiered in May at our Sikhlens Film Festival in Leicester, UK. Falcons Primary School, the first Sikh faith school in Leicestershire, boasts a proud and inspirational history. Its dedicated staff, students, parents, and community members collaboratively strive to embody the school motto: "To be the best we can be." Their journey over the last 10 years is filled with rich moments and pupils who are proud of who they are and aspire to the school motto.

    Raah-e-Nanak Poster

Raah-e-Nanak premiered at our festival in Chandigarh in February. Raah-e-Nanak is a documentary that follows a journey from Sangrur, Punjab to Kaza in the Spiti Valley, exploring everyday acts of kindness inspired by Sufi and Sikh traditions. The film showcases ordinary individuals whose selfless actions positively impact their communities, highlighting how compassion transcends cultural and geographical boundaries. Through diverse landscapes and stories, it celebrates the enduring influence of Guru Nanak's teachings on human kindness.

    Films Set to Premiere

    Beat by Beat Poster

Beat by Beat is set to premiere at our Sikhlens festival in Chandigarh in February 2026. Beat by Beat is an intimate journey through resilience, healing, and transformation, following individuals whose lives are forever changed by One Beat’s care. From a mother finally holding her long-awaited child, to the liberation from chronic pain, to the joy of first sight, education in rural India, and the rise of an orphan training to be a doctor—this documentary unveils the profound stories that redefine hope and purpose, moving from darkness to light, from struggle to strength, one beat at a time.

    Ghar Poster

GHAR will also premiere at our Sikhlens festival in Chandigarh this February. GHAR is a unique integrated living community in India that houses orphaned girls, women with disabilities, and the elderly under one roof, creating a nurturing environment where three generations support each other while fostering education, dignity, and companionship. Founded by retired Colonel Mickie Uberoi, this self-sustaining community transforms lives by creating true family bonds across generations.

    New Film in Production

    Motorcycle Club

Sikh Motorcycle Club-Across the vast landscapes of Canada, a unique brotherhood roars to life on two wheels. From coast to coast, Sikh motorcycle clubs unite riders bound not just by their love of the open road, but by their unwavering commitment to serve others. These aren't your typical biker gangs—they're charitable warriors on Harleys, their turbans flowing in the wind as they partner with major organizations like Khalsa Aid, the Canadian Cancer Society, and Guru Nanak Food Bank. Every ride tells a story of community engagement; every mile raises funds for those in need.

In a groundbreaking display of religious accommodation, provinces like Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Ontario have embraced these riders' faith, exempting turban-wearing Sikhs from mandatory helmet laws. This is the inspiring true story of how faith, freedom, and the call of the road converge to create something extraordinary—a movement where every throttle twist serves a higher purpose, and every ride becomes a journey toward making the world a better place.

We hope to premiere this film at our annual festival in Southern California November 21st-23rd. Our dedicated advancement team is working tirelessly to secure the remaining funding needed to bring this premiere to fruition.

The Sikhlens Community Voices project continues to progress toward securing $100K in funding. Achieving our complete fundraising objective will allow us to finish the outstanding productions while also creating possibilities to approve new innovative projects that highlight community perspectives and broaden narrative representation.

Your involvement and backing are essential as we work to share these meaningful stories with the world. The Sikhlens Community Voices program has successfully delivered 15 powerful films since its inception, each one showcasing unique perspectives and varied cultural experiences.

We deeply appreciate your ongoing commitment!

Sikhlens Community Voices 2024-2025: December 2024

    December 2024 Update

The Sikhlens Community Voices initiative is making significant strides towards its $100K funding goal. Despite currently having raised only 20% of the required funds, we've already achieved a remarkable milestone by completing production on three of our six selected projects. These films were showcased at our annual Sikhlens Arts and Film Festival in Southern California this past November.

Reaching our full $100K target will not only enable us to complete the remaining films but also provides the opportunity to greenlight additional groundbreaking projects that amplify community voices and diverse storytelling.

Rhymes with Hunger, originally Langar at DU, premiered at the University of Denver in May. Since 2016 a multidisciplinary course at the University of Denver has brought the Sikh langar tradition to campus where students lead the Langar experience.  Inspired by this film, local organizations are now considering starting similar programs

Sikh Human Development Foundation (SHDF), (working title) released as Empowering Dreams, tells the story of Sikh Human Development Fund a NGO based in Washington which provides scholarships to the underprivileged kids based in rural Punjab.

SGGS Vidya Kender Society,(working title) released as Guru da Kender. The Vidya Kender is a student educational institute dedicated to the rehabilitation of Sikh students from across India. It emphasizes formal education starting from the 10th grade, alongside vocational training while placing a primary focus on Gurmat Studies.

Beat by Beat and GHAR are set to premiere at our Sikhlens festival in Chandigarh this February, while the Falcon Schools UK project will debut at our Sikhlens festivals in the UK this May. Our dedicated advancement team is working tirelessly to secure the remaining funding needed to bring these premieres to fruition.

We're reaching out to our community because your support is crucial in bringing these important stories to life. Since launching the Sikhlens Community Voices program, we have proudly produced 13 impactful films that amplify diverse narratives and experiences.

Thank you for your continued support!
