  Project Update

   

  In 2019,

  Tera Hands continued its support to various homeless shelters and food pantries in Los Angeles. It also has extended its network to San Francisco Bay Area shelters. Now in total, we serve to 2-3 shelter in SF bay area along with shelters and food pantry in Los Angeles. In 2019, we have so far distributed 2000 bags of female hygiene products in California.

  All this growth and success is because of Tera Hands’ donors and volunteers.

   

  In 2018, Tera Hands was able to provide more than 1000 bags of female hygiene products homeless shelter in Pacoima and Los Angeles California. 

  Here are a few of the snapshots of our volunteers making and distributing bags.

    

  Tera Hands also collaborated with UCLA SSA (Sikh Student Association) for their Sikh awareness day, to make ~100 bags for homeless persons around Skid row, LA downtown, CA. Here are some snapshots of students of UCLA making bags.

    

  Tera hands has also been collaborating with Khalsa Food Pantry,Pacoima CA, who serves the under privileged families  with variety of food items. As female hygiene products are expensive we have started to give out these products to these families once a month. The first week of every month Tera Hands and Khalsa Food Pantry provide female hygiene products.

   Here are some snapshots of the families receiving the food items and female hygiene products. 

    

  Tera hands collaborated with Journey out (a non-profit in LA valley that helps victims of sex trafficking) and Rotary Club, LA (main goal is to end sex-trafficking), and prepared 100 bags to help out the young girls arriving at the rescue center. 

  Together we can bring a positive change and impact. As we stated prior to DasvandhWeek, we will not be asking for large dollar support until next year’s DasvandhWeek but if you would like to become a monthly recurring donor, please click here.

  Tera Hands Outreach during the Pandemic

  In 2020, 

  As we all know this year has been hard on underprivileged families.

  SoCal Outreach: Tera Hands expanded its outreach by providing 400-600 women hygiene kits to families coming to the Khalsa Food Pantry, Pacoima, California, every month. That corresponds to ~2400-3000 hygiene kits in the last 6 months.

  NorCal outreach: Tera Hands collaborated with UNITED SIKHS to provide additional 200 women hygiene kits for their monthly outreach. Additionally continued to provide support to the homeless shelter in SF bay area ~100 kits/month.

  The total number of hygiene bags comes out to be ~3000-3800 from March - October, which was about $7,500.

  This doesn't include our need per bases outreach to other shelters or organizations.  

  All this work and Seva has been possible because of Tera Hand's donors and Volunteers.
