Our Mission

Our mission is to work with every child and parent emphasizing respect, responsibility, and active participation in the community. To fulfill this mission the center has established an enrichment school for kids; conducted healthcare, parenting, legal clinics; and created collaborative partnerships with different government and non-profit community organizations.

The dedicated team at Khalsa Gurmat Center have served the children and their families in the Seattle region of the State of Washington since 2006 and formally incorporated in 2014. We believe that we need to come together as a community to nurture every child and ensure that they lead an inspired life. This required a partnership of families, teachers and administrators working together to create an environment that fosters learning and growth.

Our Program Overviews

The three objectives that have defined the programs we incubate at the Khalsa Gurmat Center are - Educate, Empower and Engage. Our mission is to work with every child and parent emphasizing respect, responsibility, and active participation in the community.

• Enrichment Courses

The Khalsa Gurmat School provides a challenging and engaging curriculum within a uniquely personal environment. We currently offer courses in Sikh history, Punjabi language, Kirtan, Sikh Martial Arts, Mathematics, Arts and Crafts, Robotics, and Creative Computing.

• Career Planning Workshops

We collaborate with fellow non-profits to facilitate educational workshops for those seeking to advance their academic pursuits and invite professionals who have distinguished themselves in their careers with the aim of inspiring our community to explore diverse career avenues.

• Free Legal Clinics and Health Fairs

We organize Legal Clinics in partnership with SABAW to deliver free legal aid to the general public and senior citizens. We also invite healthcare professionals and other non-profits with expertise in addressing the medical insurance and healthcare needs of our community members.

• Civic and Community Engagement

We believe that an engaged community requires everyone to be involved in the local, state and federal civic processes. To this end, we have organized voter registration campaigns and have fostered environments conducive to well-informed discussions on issues that affect the community.
