Empowering Sikhs worldwide to realize their full potential.

The Inspiriation

While giving school fees for multiple students over the last 5 years, one thing we have always thought on how we can empower the families to be independent and not relying on donations to get through. Also the kids had no clue on what to study or what career to choose.

We also realized that the gurmat-based resources for kids and youth are scarce. Taking inspiration from these, an organization is formed BC, Canada to work on it and tackling these challenges. 

Our Goal

The association will be working on empowering Sikhs by:

• Providing scholarships to needy Sikh girls.
• Providing college, career and business mentoring and support.
• Providing support in researching, publishing and distributing Sikh history, literature and motivational videos especially for kids and youth. 

Need and Costs 

$30K is an estimation from the last year which the team spent personally before organizing formally on these efforts ($10K on donations to help with business mentoring and support, $15K on scholarships, career and college mentoring, and $5K on literature research and administration). However, the need for mental health is increased which we want to consider in the coming years.  

Timeline & Audience

Team sewadars have been helping these things on individual basis but getting a project created with also get the benefits of corporate matching to make us achieve much more. The goal is to support those in US, Canada & India. However, most of the Sikhs being supported historically have been in India.
