The recent floods caused by breaches in the Ravi and Sutlej rivers have devastated large parts of Punjab, submerging villages and displacing thousands of families. Entire communities in Gurdaspur, Pathankot, and other border districts have lost their homes, livelihoods, and access to basic needs.
What inspired us to start this fundraiser is simple: we could not stand by while our people suffered. As one of the first organizations to reach flood-hit villages, The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib, has been rescuing stranded families, distributing langar (cooked meals), milk, clean drinking water, essential relief kits, and even fodder for animals. Already, more than 128 lives have been saved, but the crisis is far from over.
Why does this project matter?
Because every family we rescue, every child we feed, every animal we save is a life restored with dignity and hope. This is not just about relief—it is about standing together in humanity’s darkest hour.
How can donors help?
Your contribution can directly provide food, clean water, medicines, and shelter to families who have lost everything. Every rupee becomes a lifeline for someone waiting in despair.
How will funds be used?
All donations will go towards:
Supplying cooked meals, clean water, and milk for families
Distributing relief kits with essentials like clothes, medicines, and hygiene supplies
Providing fodder for animals who are equally affected
Supporting rescue operations to reach stranded families
This project is about Chardi Kala — keeping spirits ever-rising even when the waters rise against us. Together, we can help Punjab heal.
