Why This Project Matters
Growing up as a Sikh in a diverse world can feel isolating for young people. Many Sikh children struggle to find spaces where their identity is celebrated rather than questioned. The Ujjaldidar Singh Memorial Foundation exists to change that. Through community service, Kirtan Darbars, parades, and cultural events, we create spaces where Sikh youth can connect with their heritage and with each other.

Our flagship event, Sikh Children’s Day, brings together over three hundred children each year for a full day of cultural competitions, learning activities, and celebration. It is a day where young Sikhs see themselves reflected, valued, and empowered. Through scholarships and educational opportunities, we also invest directly in the futures of these children—giving them the tools to succeed while staying rooted in Sikh values of service, equality, and compassion.

How Your Donation Helps
Every dollar raised goes directly toward building programs that inspire and uplift Sikh youth. Your generous support helps us cover the costs of organizing Sikh Children’s Day, including venue rental, competition supplies, awards, and meals for hundreds of participating families. Donations also fund scholarships for deserving Sikh students, community service initiatives, and cultural programming throughout the year.

How Funds Will Be Used
Funds raised through this campaign will be directed toward expanding the reach and impact of our core programs. Specifically, your contributions will support Sikh Children’s Day event operations, including activities, competitions, and prizes; educational scholarships for Sikh youth; community service projects and outreach; Kirtan Darbars, parades, and cultural events that bring our community together; and operational needs that keep the Foundation running year-round.

Ujjaldidar Singh believed in the strength of his faith and the power of community. By donating today, you carry that belief forward. You help a child stand a little taller, feel a little prouder, and know that their heritage is something to celebrate.

The Ujjaldidar Singh Memorial Foundation is a registered non-profit 501(c) organization. All donations are tax deductible.

Thank you for helping us keep Ujjaldidar Singh’s legacy alive.

    Sikh Children's Day 2026 Update

Sikh Children’s Day is an opportunity for Sikh youth in California to participate in a day full of kirtan, kavita, gurbani, and much more. Sikh Children’s Day 2026 is approaching, and we already have over 200 kids registered. Every dollar raised goes directly toward the costs of organizing Sikh Children’s Day, including venue rental, competition supplies, awards, and langar.

Beyond the event itself, we also aim to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors headed to college. This year alone, we have 10-15 applicants for these scholarships, and your donation can help fund them. Thanks to community fundraising, we’ve awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to date to youth headed for college and university.

Right now, we’re also matching donations, but only until the match fund reaches its limit! Consider donating to help provide future scholarships and further our youth’s connection to Sikhi.
