Tragedies like the anonymous Singh who committed suicide in Turlock Gurdwara and far too many others remind us why the Khalsa Community Center exists. For more than two years, KCC has provided free, culturally competent Punjabi-speaking therapy, addiction recovery, and youth mentorship.

We are standing at a historic crossroads for our community, and we need your collective strength to cross the finish line.

To date, we have raised $187,138 toward our $600,000 goal. While we are incredibly grateful to our 278 donors, the clock is ticking, and the stakes could not be higher.

The October Deadline: Use It or Lose It

The State of California has awarded us a landmark $6 million grant to build the first-ever permanent, free Punjabi-Sikh mental health and community center. However, this funding comes with a strict condition: we must raise a 10% community match ($600,000) by October.

If we do not hit our $600,000 target by October, the $6 million grant will be entirely rescinded and returned to the State of California. We cannot let this generation-defining opportunity slip away.

A Permanent Sanctuary for Generations

This is not just a short-term project; it is a $6 million infrastructure building that will remain an asset in our community forever. It will serve as a permanent sanctuary for healing, growth, and empowerment.

While the center will continue to host vital pillars like education, senior programs, and women's clubs, our core expansion will directly target the most urgent crises facing our Sangat:

Culturally Competent Mental Health Therapy: Breaking the stigma with professional care delivered in our own language and rooted in our lived experiences.

Substance & Alcohol Abuse Recovery Support: Fresno holds one of the largest Punjabi populations in California, yet our families have gone decades without dedicated, culturally sensitive addiction recovery resources. This center changes that.

Outpatient & Crisis Support: Establishing a critical safety net that our community has desperately needed for years.

The Khalsa Community Center was founded to fill a gap our community could no longer ignore. Today, we are the first-ever free Punjabi-Sikh mental health and community center in the United States and possibly the world! We are actively working toward building a permanent home that can meet the urgent and growing needs of our Sangat.

We have negotiated land and launched a campaign to build a purpose-designed center that reflects healing, education, dignity, and sustainability.

We Are Saving Lives
We have supported individuals navigating trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, grief, immigration stress, and isolation. We have been told repeatedly:
"Without KCC, I would have never gotten help."

We are building future leaders, over 50 youth weekly in tutoring and Punjabi education, with many more waiting.

We are preserving culture helping children find confidence, identity, and community.

Nothing like this has existed before.

• 68 local students gained free academic support
• 52 students currently on a waitlist because we have no space to serve them
