  New Elderly Members in Shelter home
  New elderly members were welcomed and embraced in Prabh Aasra For Care ,Treatment and rehabilitation.

  

  Jagga Singh, (60-year-old) widower from Hathur village in Ludhiana, was recently admitted to Prabh Aasra through the collective efforts of the village head, members of the Youth Welfare Club, and the Hathur Police Station. Jagga, who suffers from a mental illness, had been enduring significant challenges. With no family members able to care for him and no means of earning a living, he was reliant on the temporary kindness of a neighbor who provided him with a room as a short-term solution.

  His life has been marked by tragedy. Having lost his wife, Jagga also endured the heartbreak of losing his only son to illness, leaving him without a primary caregiver. His only surviving child, a daughter, is married into an impoverished family and struggles to make ends meet, making it impossible for her to support him due to her own financial hardships.

  Seeing Jagga's vulnerability, local authorities and community members recognized his need for a stable environment and reached out to Prabh Aasra. The organization's team promptly arranged for his transfer to their main facility, where he received a thorough medical check-up, and his treatment and rehabilitation began. Now, surrounded by a dedicated support system, Jagga has a safe place to call home, where his ongoing care needs are being met with compassion and stability.

   

  Another Person, Mamina (ID No.: 2170), a 55-year-old woman, was found in a vulnerable and disoriented state, wandering the streets of JTPL Society, Sector 115, with no knowledge of her identity or surroundings. Concerned citizens who observed her distress contacted the police control room (112), prompting a swift response from the Sadar Police Station, Kharar.

  

  Upon reaching the scene, the police gently guided Mamina to safety. Recognizing the urgency of her situation, they arranged a medical examination for her at the Civil Hospital to ensure her well-being. Following this assessment, Mamina was presented before the SDM of Kharar, who, after careful consideration, determined that she would benefit from the specialized care offered at Prabh Aasra.

  Mamina was admitted to Prabh Aasra, where she now receives the essential support and care she needs. Here, in a safe and compassionate environment, she has a chance to regain stability, and Prabh Aasra dedicated staff will support her in her journey towards recovery and well-being.

  New elderly members in Shelter home

  New elderly members were welcomed and embraced in Prabh Aasra For Care ,Treatment and rehabilation 

  Prabh Aasra NGO is steadfast in its mission to provide rehabilitation and shelter for senior destitute individuals. Our shelter home has become a sanctuary for the elderly, offering them not just a roof over their heads but also a sense of care, treatment and rehabilitation. With the generous support from our community through contributions, we have been able to enhance our facilities, ensuring that our residents receive the best possible care and a dignified life. Thank you for your unwavering support in making this vision a reality.

  

  Recently, a compassionate woman named Pooja Devi, around 50 years old, was found wandering in a pitiable and abandoned state near Bansa Wali Chungi, Kharar (Mohali), right in the middle of the road. The injuries on her body suggested she had been in a severe accident. Some compassionate individuals tried to contact the authorities for help but were unable to establish contact. Considering the urgency and Pooja Devi’s miserable condition, they reached out to Prabh Aasra and informed them of the situation. Following this, Prabh Aasra's rescue team, led by Mrs. Rajinder Kaur, promptly arrived at the scene with an ambulance and brought Pooja Devi to the institution. After providing initial assistance, they learned from her that she is from Amarpura, Kolkata (West Bengal). Her husband was an alcoholic and died about five years ago due to his bad habits. Following his death, extreme poverty made it very difficult for her to raise her children. Therefore, she moved to Chandigarh with her three sons, aged 8, 7, and 2, hoping to survive by begging in a big city. However, a few days after arriving, she met with an accident and broke her right arm, which now remains deformed due to improper or delayed treatment. Seeing her wandering in this distressed state, a kind-hearted person admitted her to PGI hospital, where, due to gangrene, a blackened finger on her hand had to be amputated. Frightened by the amputation, she ran away from the hospital. Upon returning to the place where she had left her three sons, she found none of them there. Despite searching everywhere, she couldn’t find any of her children. Exhausted, she came to believe that her children had been kidnapped.

  She then wandered around and ended up in Kharar, where she started begging to survive. She would ask for a little food from people and cook whatever she could gather on a temporary stove. At night, she would sleep in various places like temples, under bridges, or in front of showrooms. Here, she met with another accident, causing severe pain on the left side of her chest, badly injured both legs, and wounds on her head. After learning all this, Prabh Aasra has started her treatment.

   

  

  

  Jarnail Singh (52 years old) was asked to admit to Prabh Aasra by the District Social Security Officer of Mohali and the President of the Municipal Council of Kurali. A retired mathematics teacher, Jarnail Singh's wife has passed away, and his parents are also deceased. Out of his two children, he has married off his daughter, while his son fell into bad company and is now in jail. Jarnail Singh had been living alone at home. Recently, a villager had been taking care of him, but for the past three days, this person locked him and his pet dog in the house and absconded with the other valuables and taking the key with him. For a day and a half, no one noticed anything, but the continuous barking of the dog raised suspicions among the neighbors. One neighbor called some respectable members of the community, who then informed the police. Coincidentally, the person who had locked Jarnail Singh was already in police custody. The police obtained the key from him and unlocked the house. Subsequently, the community contacted the President of the Municipal Council of Kurali and the District Social Security Officer of Mohali, who then reached out to Prabh Aasra. The organization's rescue team, led by S Jasvir Singh brought him to the main complex via ambulance, where he was given a medical check-up, and his treatment and care began. He is still unconscious with open eyes and was in ICU for many days.

  Rehabilitation and Shelter for Senior Destitute

  Care ,Treatment and Shelter for Senior Destitute:

  In the warm embrace of compassion and solidarity, Prabh Aasra's light continues to radiate, guiding those who have weathered life's storms into the comforting twilight of their years. Amidst the past three months, a stirring influx of elderly individuals has sought solace within our sanctuary. Each arrival carries a testament of remarkable resilience, weaving a narrative of strength and fortitude in the face of life's trials.

  Recently ,A compassionate woman name Davinder Kaur , aged 80 years , reached out to the organization over the phone, expressing concern about another woman living in Kharar Saini Mohla, Mohali district, whose living conditions were extremely dire. In response, the team from the Prabh Aasra organization visited her residence and found it in a state of severe dilapidation. The house was cluttered with junk, leaving very little space for living. The woman, who lived alone, was elderly and bent over with age, making it difficult for her to walk upright. She was unable to care for herself and survived on tea and simple meals provided by kind-hearted individuals.

  It was evident that she had not been able to maintain proper hygiene, as she emitted a strong odor. Despite her challenging circumstances, she seemed resigned to her situation. Of particular concern was the use of an angithi (traditional stove) and a gas cylinder in a cluttered environment, posing a serious safety risk.

  Upon speaking with the woman, it was revealed that she had lost her husband and son, with one son residing elsewhere due to work commitments. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the residents of the area engaged with the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Kharar District, SAS Nagar, and arranged for the woman to be admitted to Prabh Aasra for the necessary care and treatment.

  

                      Under the regular destitution process , Shiv Kumar, son of Shri Chandra Bal, aged 56 and a resident of Barhmajara village in S.A.S. Nagar, was admitted to our society for care, treatment, and shelter by the Senior Medical Officer of the District Hospital. According to the Senior Medical Officer, Shiv was admitted in a very critical condition to the Civil Hospital in Mohali. Upon his recovery and subsequent medical clearance, a challenging situation arose as there were no family members available to tend to Shiv's needs or arrange for his return home. Recognizing this predicament, the Senior Medical Officer proactively reached out to Prabh Asara, seeking their assistance in providing ongoing care and shelter for Shiv Kumar.

    

                     Under the usual admission process, a compassionate individual arrived at Prabh Aasra with a taxi, accompanied by an injured elder whose left leg was visibly fractured and had been fitted with braces. The elder was in immense pain, tears streaming down his face as he sobbed uncontrollably.

  

  The person who brought him recounted finding the elder in a distressed state at Samrala Chownk, where he was writhing in agony and unable to bear the pain. Without hesitation, they arranged for a taxi and rushed him to the local police station, seeking assistance. Fortunately, the police directed them to approach an NGO for immediate care and treatment, waiving any formalities.

  

  Upon receiving guidance to contact the 112 helpline, they were instructed to take the elder to a hospital for diagnosis before any further action could be taken. Faced with the urgency of the situation, they sought help from the President of Prabh Aasra, who promptly admitted the elder and arranged for his transfer to the Prabh Aasra Charitable Medical Sewa Center for urgent medical attention.

  Upon examination and X-ray, it was discovered that the elder's injury was not healing properly, and the implant was not functioning as expected, causing him significant discomfort. The doctors of Prabh Aasra Hospital recommended a corrective surgery, which was promptly conducted.

  In a recent conversation with the gentleman, Mr. Balbir Singh, approximately 70 years old, he shared his poignant story. Having served in the Army for 13 years in the 13 Punjab Infantry Department (Army no. 2465966), Mr. Singh's life took a difficult turn after the passing of his first wife. He left his job while stationed in Sikkim and subsequently remarried, only to face abandonment by his children over financial disputes. His life took a tragic turn when he was struck by an autorickshaw, resulting in severe injuries to his jaw and leg.

  Following initial treatment at Civil Hospital Samrala and subsequent transfer to GMRC 32 for further care, Mr. Singh found himself back on the streets of Samrala until the kindness of strangers led him to Prabh Aasra, where he found solace and hope for a better future. Currently, Mr. Singh is on the path to recovery, gradually regaining his mobility with the support of medical intervention and compassionate care.

  

                              As per the standard admission protocol a concerned citizen recently submitted an application to the office of the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Kharar, District SAS Nagar, detailing the plight of Mr. Sukhlal, a 74-year-old individual whom he had graciously offered temporary shelter in his backyard. Mr. Sukhlal, living a solitary existence for several years with no familial support, found himself in a deteriorating state of health, prompting the concerned citizen to seek intervention.

  Responding to the urgency of the situation, the SDM promptly referred Mr. Sukhlal to Prabh Aasra for the specialized care and support he urgently required. Upon admission, it became evident that Mr. Sukhlal was grappling with chest congestion, causing significant breathing difficulties. Recognizing the severity of his condition, he was expeditiously transferred to Prabh Aasra Hospital for intensive medical intervention.

  Admitted to the ICU, Mr. Sukhlal fought a valiant battle for eight days, demonstrating resilience and determination in the face of adversity. With expert medical care and unwavering dedication, he emerged victorious, marking a significant milestone in his journey toward recovery.

  On the 29th of February 2024, Mr. Sukhlal transitioned to Prabh Aasra shelter home, where he continues to receive comprehensive care and medical supervision. Encouraging signs of progress are evident, underscoring the transformative impact of compassionate support and professional medical attention on his well-being.

  Providing Care and Shelter to Elderly Destitutes

  In the heart of compassion and community, Prabh Aasra stands tall as a beacon of hope for those who have weathered the storms of life and found themselves in the twilight years, often abandoned or unable to fend for themselves. Over the last two months, this sanctuary of care has witnessed a remarkable influx of elderly individuals, each carrying a unique narrative of resilience and the transformative influence of community support.

              Recently, Prabh Aasra admitted destitute who were in urgent need of medical treatment. Here are an old lady’s name Harbans Kaur age 60 yrs. was admitted to the society by someone. He explained that lady met with an accident. She is unable to walk and need more care and treatment but unfortunately, there is no one at home to take care of her. So, they brought her to society for care & treatment, & Shelter.During medical examination her leg was have multiple fractures. She was in need of immediate surgery. The very next day her surgery was performed & doctors install implants in her leg. Now she is under recovery and is under Supervision of Specialist doctors in Prabh Aasra Chartable Medical Sewa Center.

  

  In a heartwarming act of compassion, the Prabh Aasra team recently came to the rescue of Mr. Suresh Chand, a 70-year-old man found in deplorable conditions outside ward no. 14 Nirankari Bhavan during a rainy evening in winter Season.local residents dialed112 for assistance, but the Police claimed they lacked the space to accommodate the elderly man and suggested contacting Prabh Aasra. Fortunately, a benevolent individual promptly made the call, and within minutes, the Prabh Aasra Society team arrived at the scene.Swiftly taking charge, they transported Mr. Suresh Chand to the hospital, providing him with the immediate medical attention he desperately needed. The Prabh Aasra team ensured he received proper care, shelter, and treatment, ultimately admitting him to their shelter home.With the dedicated care from Prabh Aasra, Mr. Suresh Chand made a remarkable recovery. He soon revealed his home address, allowing the team to reunite him with his grateful family. This inspiring tale stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Prabh Aasra team in rescuing and rehabilitating those in dire need.

  Shelter and Care for new admitted Elderly

  Prabh Aasra acknowledges the multifaceted needs of elderly individuals, encompassing their spiritual, social, emotional, and medical care. Among recent admissions, an elderly woman, Bibi Ji, had endured decades of solitude and sorrow. Bereft of family and companionship, she was admitted to Prabh Aasra for much-needed care and treatment. Her life, once somber, now finds solace and support in the compassionate community.

   

  

  Same as a 70-year-old  inhabitant ,resident of the village Dharamsala, found himself in a dire and pitiful situation. His life had taken a tragic turn, as his own family, including his wife and three daughters, had abandoned him when he needed them the most. when his health declined, and his circumstances worsened. It was then that he realized that his own flesh and blood were unwilling to provide him with the care and support.The village panchayat members stepped in as a beacon of hope.He was admitted in the Prabh Aasra society for care and treatment. Many more elderly are residing who are under regular care, love and treatment.

  Elderly People Getting Shelter at Prabh Aasra

  Prabh Aasra has been at the forefront of providing shelter and care to numerous elderly individuals who have either been abandoned by their families or are unable to care for themselves due to various reasons. Over the past two months, several admissions have taken place, each representing a story of resilience and the power of community support. These admissions have included individuals who were found alone and disoriented, unable to remember their own identities or take care of their basic needs. Prabh Aasra has opened its doors to these vulnerable individuals, providing them with a safe and nurturing environment, where their physical and emotional well-being is prioritized. These recent admissions underscore the critical role that Prabh Aasra plays in addressing the needs of the elderly population, offering them solace, dignity, and the care they deserve.

  Providing Care and Shelter to Elderly Destitutes

  Prabh Aasra dedicated to providing care and support to elderly destitutes, is diligently addressing the spiritual, social, emotional, and medical needs of the elderly in their care. Recently, Prabh Aasra admitted several elderly destitutes who were in urgent need of medical treatment. Here is an old lady’s journey to Prabh Aasra

  Resilience and Compassion:

  In a state of pitiable condition, an elderly woman was found lying by the side of the road near Kharar. When asked, she shared that her husband had passed away, and her elder sister-in-law had abandoned her. Left with no choice, she had crawled for 1 kilometer along the road side, despite a major fracture in her lower back that left her unable to sit, stand, or walk.

  After enduring hunger and hardship, someone called the police for help. The police found her in a dire condition and took her to a Gurdwara Sahib for temporary shelter. However, her story touched the hearts of generous individuals who were moved by her plight, and they admitted her to Prabh Aasra for care, treatment, and shelter. On admission, she was found to be HCV positive, kidney infected and ortho related problems during her medical checkup.

  At Prabh Aasra, the elderly woman received compassionate care at Prabh Aasra home. With time, regular medical treatment and care, her physical health is improving, and she found solace in the supportive and welcoming environment. She made new friends, and her spirits lifted as she regained her strength. Her story inspired others to support Prabh Aasra's mission to help those in need

  Today, the elderly woman's life has been transformed. She is grateful for the care and compassion she is receiving at Prabh Aasra, where she found a place to belong and live her golden years with dignity. Her story exemplifies resilience and the power of community, reminding us of the importance of kindness and generosity towards those in need.

  

  Elderly Couple's Nightmare: Son's Brutal Attack left them injured and homeless, seeking shelter and care

  In a shocking turn of events, the elderly husband revealed that he had a heated altercation with his son, resulting in a violent attack. The son's rage knew no bounds as he physically assaulted his aging parents, leaving them with injuries and trauma. To add to their misery, the son heartlessly threw them out of their own home, leaving them vulnerable and homeless. As a result, the elderly couple, who had once lovingly nurtured their son, found themselves seeking help from the local society. The couple turned to Prabh Aasra for help. With their advanced age and vulnerable condition, they found comfort and support in the caring arms of the Prabh Aasra. With personalized care and attention, their physical injuries were treated, and their emotional wounds were soothed.

  Many Elderly Provided care, shelter and treatment

  A roof over the head is a critical need of the elderly, especially those who are sick and abandoned by families or those uprooted by disasters.

  Elderly destitute at Prabh Aasara

  Elders had spiritual, social, emotional needs along with their care and treatment. Prabh Aasra is making efforts to cope up with these all for the regularly reaching Old Age/ elderly destitute. Recently some elderly destitute were admitted and all the cases were in urgent need of treatment. Out of these an inhabitant who was working as Granthi at Gurudwara Sahib from very long, but after he met with an accident at home his lower back stopped working and got him into the condition of being bed ridden. No one is in his family present to take care, he is currently at society for care and treatment.

  Same as there is an old Bibi ji during the last seasonal harsh rains her roof got damaged and she was living in very pitiful conditions under a polythene tent. Because of her old age, she was not able to see from both of her eyes. After care, treatment and operation of her eyes she is again able to see this beautiful world.

  Severe cases of elderly destitute reach last month

  Recently 15 elderly needy destitute were admitted in last months out of which some are severe cases that were referred for admission by the government hospitals and PGI. According to the doctors they were only to be taken care of till their last breath as they will not survive long. Soon after their admission, they were referred to Prabh Aasra Hospital for further treatment and investigations. One of the mentaly unstable old mother was admitted along with her child by GMCH-32 Hospital, chandigarh. After recovery and care, they were reunited with his elder son. Many more elederly were  admitted who are under regular care, love and treatment.

     

  

  As per the facilities required for elderly people in Prabh Aasra old age home, few of the modifications are needed in the map which are under process.
