Naad Pargaas USA (ਨਾਦ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ) Strives to Foster a Śabda Inspired Culture
What We Do
Naad Pargaas strives to forge a Shabd inspired culture. Conceptualization of Shabd Philosophy has remained central to our efforts to foster reflective faculties. In this age where intellectual exercises govern faculties of civilization, academic discourses and research have become the vehicles of shaping holistic understanding of mankind’s collective spiritual journeys.
We undertake academic discourses and promote research to help forge reflective faculties. Naad Pargaas undertakes research in epistemological and aesthetic domains to engage in the conceptualization of Naam – Sabda Philosophy. We delve into diverse domains of education to enunciate Sabda inspired knowledge systems.

To envisage the blossoming experience of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in all sacred traditions of the world and hence search for the ‘transparent metaphysics.’

To outline academic idiom inspired by Shabad-Naam relationship embracing the philosophical and literary traditions of the world.
Our Goals
To foster a civilizational model in our contemporary age, we undertake efforts to revitalize Sikh aesthetics and Sikh scholarship. We understand the role of aesthetics in enlightening our cultural vision and refining human sensibilities through creative and enriching higher vision. Simultaneously the role of scholarship remains central to engage critically in historical unfolding of religious tradition.
Naad Pargaas Sri Amritsar, Punjab
Naad Pargaas has also been operative in Sri Amritsar, Punjab for the past fifteen years. To accomplish our vision, we conduct an annual literature festival, periodic seminars, book discussions, painting exhibitions, poetry sessions (Kavi Darbars), and conferences. We pursue the study of world philosophy in a bid to understand the thought processes that underpin contemporary scholarly discourses. We encourage and support students in undertaking rigorous studies in multiple domains (philosophy, social sciences, natural sciences, art, language, and literature). Students undertaking Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctorate programs from various universities across North India regularly contribute to the activities of Naad Pargaas. We provide lodging facilities with access to our library to such students to enable them to conduct research in their respective fields.
Our Journey
Naad Pargaas continues to be on a journey to publish significant intellectual, creative, and research-based works. The organization promotes learning in different classical languages and conducts classes in Persian.
Naad Pargaas USA is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 organization and all contributions made to it are tax-deductible. We rely on Sangat’s contributions to be able to embark upon the above pursuits in the context of the Western Sikh society.

Book review seminar
3 literary classics were discussed in The Sikh women book culb organized by Naad Pargaas USA at Mata Triptaji Gurudwara, Plymouth MI.
The books reviewd were
1. Crative Unity by Rabindranath Tagore- Reviewd by Harleen Kaur
2. Tao of Physics by Fritjot Capra- Reviewed by Jasvin Sidhu
3. Anecdots of Confucius- Reviewed by Harjot Kaur

Seminar on future poetentialities of Sikh society
Envisioning upcoming transformations in the value systems and ethical orientations of mankind, Naad Pargaas USA, organized a discussion on future opportunities and challenges for Sikh Society. The seminar was inagurated with a talk by Amandeep Singh, Director- Naad Pargaas USA. He discussed the role of technology, particularly AI, robotics, and genetic engineering in shaping the minds of upcoming generations. He also discussed diverse modes of expresserions that Sikhs can undertake to deal with the looming challenges. His talk was followed by a presentation on “Career and Educational opportunities for Sikh Youth” by Jaspreet Singh, Vice President, DTE Energy.
Harjot Kaur, Convener Naad Pargaas USA, presented an account of all the events and functions undertaken by Naad pargaas in first year of functioning. She mentioned that the organization was launching a news letter to encourage writing culture among Sikh youth and community members. Watch the event here

Women's Book Club, Book Discussion, Poetry Recital
The Naad Pargaas USA Sikh Women Book Club started in April 2022. An initial list of 30 books was drawn after a careful exploration of more than 500 books. Book assignments were made to interested Book Club members. The group meets once every three weeks at the Mata Tripta Gurughar, Plymouth, MI. Watch the Book Club sessions here.
In April 2022, a camp organized to hear the voices of Sikh youth on how their lives in the Western world shaped their beliefs and experiences about Sikhism. Members of the community, the parents of the youth, Mata Tripta Gurghar management, and the Naad Pargaas USA team attended and provided their comments as well. Watch the discussion here.
The same month, a book discussion on the newly released Violence and the Sikhs, authored by Arvind-Pal Singh Mandair, was held at Mata Triptaji, Gurdwara in Plymouth, MI which was attended my members of community, Dr. Mandair, and Naad Pargaas team. Watch the book discussion here.

Celebrating the one hundred years of Sikh migration to Michigan, Naad Pargaas USA oranized a poetry recital at Mata Triptaji Gurdwara Sahib in Plymouth, MI in July 2022. Several poets and enthusiasts narrated their poems and creative compositions reminiscing the 100 year landmark. Watch the event here.

Book Releases, Persian Classes, and Lecture
In December 2021, Naad Pargaas USA released a re-publication of The Spirit of Oriental Poetry by Prof. Puran Singh during an event at Gurdwara Mata Triptaji in Plymouth, MI. Prof. Singh has authored many books in English and Punjabi, and The Spirit of Oriental Poetry is his masterpiece, where he discusses the literary traditions of the world, history, culture, and folktales of Oriental societies.
From January-March 2022, Naad Pargaas organized in-person Persian classes at Mata Tripta Gurughar, Plymouth, MI. The three-month course is designed to teach Persian vocabulary, understanding grammar, and finally reading directly from the Persian sources of Sikh texts. The goal is to make students capable enough to read, understand, and learn parts of Zafarnamah (penned by Guru Gobind Singh) and writings of Bhai Nand Lal Goya. In February 2022, Naad Pargaas hosted a lecture on Understanding Zafarnameh at Rochester Hills Gurghar, MI. Director Amandeep Singh discussed three modes of approaching Zafarnameh - literary, historical, conceptual, as well as the underlying themes of oath, breaking oath, and the idea of religious state and its implied nationalism. Director Prof. Jagdish Singh laid down insights on Nameh tradition. Watch the lecture → Part 1 and Part 2.
In March 2022, Naad Pargaas published and release Akal Takht – Tradition, History, and Conceptual Appraisals. Edited by Director Amandeep Singh, the book is a collection of the most important essays that have been authored on Akal Takht in the last century. The launch event was organized at Mata Tripta Gurughar.
