Over the past three months, our hospital has conducted surgeries in all available departments. The number of procedures done reflect our ongoing commitment to deliver high-quality medical care, with a particular focus on supporting the underprivileged members of our community. Our team of skilled surgeons, medical staff, and support personnel have worked tirelessly to ensure that every patient receives the attention and care they deserve, regardless of their financial situation. We continue to prioritize those most in need, aiming to bridge the gap in healthcare access and make a meaningful difference in their lives. Through our efforts, we hope to not only restore health but also bring hope and relief to those who otherwise might not have the means to afford essential medical treatments.

NICU: The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a specialized area to provide critical medical care for newborns, particularly premature babies or those born with health complications. Babies in the NICU need assistance with breathing, feeding, regulating body temperature, and fighting infections. These interventions are vital, as premature infants often face underdeveloped organs and immune systems, making them highly vulnerable.

We are still in urgent need of two neonatal ventilators to enhance our care for these vulnerable infants. Prabh Aasra provides medical services to many individuals who require life support during their rehabilitation. Having a Ventilator Natal will save lives by ensuring critical care during respiratory emergencies.

Free Medical Camp

Prabh Aasra, in collaboration with Anekant Community Center and Aparigrah Foundation (USA), hosted a highly successful Free Medical Camp from 17th to 19th October, 2024 at Prabh Aasra Charitable Medical Sewa Center hospital. The camp provided a unique opportunity for the community to access a wide range of specialized medical services at no cost. Thousands of individuals received free consultations, diagnoses, treatments and medications, addressing a wide range of medical needs. Along with specialist consultations, the camp also provided free screening and distribution of eyeglasses at the hospital. A team of 14 specialized doctors from the USA, including experts in gynecology, psychiatry, pulmonology, orthopedics, urology, physiotherapy, general medicine, and pain management, joined our specialized doctors team to provide essential medical care to those in need. Their collective expertise and dedication made a remarkable impact, enhancing the health and well-being of our community members. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to serving our mission.

By offering free screenings, treatments, and the distribution of free eyeglasses, the camp significantly contributed to the well-being of the local community, demonstrating a strong commitment to accessible healthcare for all. Over these past three days, we have had the privilege of serving more than 10,000 individuals, including school going children and adults. As part of a collaborative initiative, we provided 472 pairs of free eyeglasses and are on track to deliver an additional 760 pairs. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who contributed to making this mission a success. Together, we are creating a lasting impact and bringing the gift of clear vision to those in need.

The six dedicated teams conducted eye screenings for children in nearby government schools, identifying and addressing vision issues. This service aimed to enhance the health and educational experience of young students by providing free specs where needed.

Construction Progress Update: We would like to mention there is still a significant amount of work ahead of us. Several key tasks remain unfinished, and we cannot achieve this goal alone. To complete this project and offer a fully operational, high-tech facility for those in need, we require additional support from our community. With your help, we can ensure that the necessary resources, infrastructure, and services are put in place to make this vision a reality. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of many and enable us to provide a modern, comprehensive facility dedicated to supporting those who need it most.

• Construction: The full construction phase has been completed.

    ●  Plumbing and Flooring: All plumbing work and the installation of marble and tile flooring are under progress. 

●  Doors and Fittings: Washroom doors have been fully fitted, and rooms will be almost ready for use after paint work.

● Water Infrastructure: Water tanks have been installed to ensure adequate supply for fire safety and general water usage.

● Current Focus: We are now working on the structure drawing of adjacent portion to be constructed and interlink the front and back buildings to ensure seamless connectivity and operations. The projected total expenditure for constructing this adjacent building is approximately 29,400,000.

The following are the specifications and costs of the constructed floors:

Paint Work: Paint work in the above-mentioned building is pending for which we need your support.

STP Update:The STP work is progressing well. We have successfully removed the old flooring, also the GSP pipe work is completed. Currently, we are awaiting to fix the Kota stone on the floor. Also, we would like to add that the plaster work for the water provision is successfully finished. With your support and contribution, we are ensuring that work is on track for the upcoming phases of the project.

We are in need of the sewage water tank that is essential for collecting and managing wastewater generated at Prabh Aasra's Hospital facilities in the absence of Sewage connection by the Municipal Council. Proper sewage management is crucial for maintaining hygiene, especially for the environment that cares for the sick and vulnerable. This tank will help in storing wastewater before it is disposed of or treated.

STP (Sewage Treatment Plant)

Work on our new STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) has started, with dismantling currently underway. The society is installing a new STP to manage hospital sewage efficiently. This project enhances our infrastructure, ensuring better hygiene and patient care.

Since 2021, our society has steadfastly provided medical facilities to its residents and those in need, especially during the challenging times of COVID-19. Thanks to the grace of God and the invaluable contributions of generous individuals, our hospital now boasts various specialized departments, including Medicine, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Gynecology, Dentistry, Urology, Pulmonology, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Dermatology, Neurology, ENT, Physiotherapy, PICU, NICU, Pediatric department, Diagnostic Center, and Pharmacy, all operational to ensure comprehensive healthcare delivery. However, the increasing number of Outpatient Department (OPD) visits has underscored the urgent need for expansion, as our current facilities are nearing capacity. Presently, the 50-bedded Charitable Hospital offers extensive medical services, catering to over 250 patients daily in its OPD. Our facility provides a wide range of healthcare services free of cost to the inhabitants and accidental emergency cases and at charitable rates to address the diverse needs of local patients.

"We've recently introduced several enhancements to our healthcare services. This includes the installation of a new Auto Clave machine outside the OT, bolstering our sterilization procedures to ensure utmost safety. Additionally, we've welcomed new Super Specialist Doctors, specialized Nurses for NICU & ICU, and a full-time Anesthetic Specialist for surgeries. In response to public demand, we've also expanded our services to include AC private rooms, ensuring greater comfort for the patients. Medical Camp at Anandpur Sahib: "From March 23rd to 26th, 2024, Prabh Aasra Unified Family extended its compassionate reach by organizing a transformative free medical camp at Sri Anandpur Sahib, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Hola Mohalla. Spearheading this noble initiative was none other than Madam Rajinder Kaur, the esteemed co-founder of Prabh Aasra.

During the camp, individuals in need received comprehensive medical checkups and treatments courtesy of the dedicated doctors along with Paramedical Staff from Prabh Aasra. Essential medications were distributed free of charge, ensuring that those facing health challenges could access the care they deserve. To further bolster our commitment to serving the community, ambulance services were readily available, providing vital support in times of medical emergencies. Several Emergencies were co handled by our dedicated medical team members.

The 50 bedded Charitable Hospital is currently providing the regular medical facility with more than 250 OPD’s daily supporting patients with different services at charitable rates.

Recently the minor and major operations at Prabh Aasra charitable Medical Sewa Centre  of Intensive care unit (ICU) ,Pain management and Anaesthesiology department have been started along with Urology , General surgery and Lapro surgery all at charitable rates for the general needy public and free for Prabh Aasra inhabitants.

 During the last three months total minor and major 187 surgeries have been performed by specialists which include Eye, Gynae , ENT, Urology,Ortho and other General surgeries  done at charitable rates. 

In addition to the above the Charitable hospital is now equipped recently with the following equipments & facilities : 

20 KVA UPS installed in OT’s for backup Purposes and to avoid any electric problem during surgeries.

The Modular Eye OT is fully equipped along with the addition of NCT, Auto Lensometer, 90 D & 20 D lenses etc. Till now total more than 175 eye operations , 18 Gynae , 16 General surgery have been conducted by the surgeon at charitable rates. 

New Dental chair added and installed in Prabh Aasra Charitable medical sewa center. Laproscopy instrument installed in OT as some of them were purchased on bank Loan with total cost of Rs. 50,53,940/-

Recent requirements for Hospital:

Total of Rs 5,26,53,805.92 are currently in need for making Multispeciality hospital fully functional.

50-bedded charitable hospital has been providing regular medical facilities to over 250 patients daily at charitable rates. In addition, the hospital has organized free medical check-up camp and blood donation drive, benefiting over 260 patients and has also received support from Dr. Amrit Singh, a U.S.A. cardiologist surgeon, who provided his services for two days to the local needy public.

The hospital has also recently started performing minor and major operations at Gynae Labour Wards, addressing chest and pulmonary diseases, and has installed new equipment in the Pathology department. The hospital has also expanded its ophthalmology services and added new equipment for improved patient care. Furthermore, with the increasing demand for ambulance services, the hospital has acquired new ambulances to provide 24/7 emergency services.

Updates on Healthcare Services and Facilities:

Expansion of Gynae Labour Wards: The hospital has recently started performing minor and major operations at the Gynae Labour Wards. Procedures such as Endometrial Biopsy, Suction & Evacuation, Pyometra Drainage, and Bartholen Cystectomy are now being carried out to address women's health issues. This expansion has allowed the hospital to provide specialized care for gynecological conditions, benefiting the local community.

Installation of PFT Machine: To address the increasing demand for chest and pulmonary related diseases, the hospital has installed a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) machine. This advanced equipment helps in the diagnosis and management of respiratory conditions, improving the hospital's diagnostic capabilities and patient care.

Upgradation of Eye OT: The hospital has upgraded its Eye Operation Theater (OT) with modern equipment such as NCT (Non-Contact Tonometry), Auto Lensometer, 90 D & 20 D lenses, and other specialized instruments. These additions have enabled the hospital to perform advanced eye surgeries and provide quality eye care to patients. Over 125 eye operations have been performed at charitable rates, benefiting the local community.

Installation of Nano Lab: The hospital has acquired a Nano Lab, a Biochemistry Analyzer with a speed of 200 tests per hour, in its Pathology department. This advanced equipment has improved the efficiency and accuracy of laboratory testing, allowing for faster diagnosis and treatment of patients. This has enhanced the overall quality of patient care at the hospital.

OT Instruments and Monitors: The hospital has acquired Modular Ortho and Gynae OT instruments along with 5-five para and six para monitors for ICUs and OTs, facilitating safe and advanced surgical procedures. So far, 21 Ortho surgeries have been performed, providing specialized care to patients with orthopedic conditions.

Addition of Ambulances: To meet the increasing demand for 24/7 free ambulance services, the hospital has acquired two new ambulances on an urgent basis, in addition to modifying an existing ambulance into an Ambulance/Mortuary Van. These ambulances will provide timely and lifesaving medical transportation to patients in emergencies, ensuring that underprivileged patients have access to medical care when needed the most.

To ensure the hospital's seamless functioning and provision of quality healthcare services, an additional funding of Rs. 5,28,09,466 is currently required. 

Recent requirements for Hospital:

These funds will be utilized to equip the General OT, ICU, NICU, and other miscellaneous requirements, enabling the hospital to cater to the growing healthcare needs of the community effectively.

The charitable hospital has made significant progress in expanding its healthcare services and facilities, benefiting numerous patients in need. As currently ICU & Modular EYE OT is fully functional after the installation of Phaco machine, but still some of the medical equipments are still needed like NCT, 20 & 90 D Lenses for completing the Modular EYE OT.

As per increasing the public demand for the Gynae services, the charitable hospital recently started the Labour Ward under Gynae Department with all equipments and full staff of Nurses, OT technicians and Paramedical staff etc.

To increase the efficiency of Eye OT it was decided to start with a new LASER EYE OT which will support surgeries in terms of vision correction, but can also treat other conditions such as cataracts, diabetes related retinopathy, glaucoma without any incisor. Following are the requirements to update the basic EYE OT.

• Although the government has established major hospitals and local hospitals, during the time of Covid all well said hospitals OPD were shut down. To support the needy and underprivileged who were not able to afford the costly treatment, this hospital was commenced in Dec 2020. At this time OPD is more than 300 people per day. Anyone can get an appointment with a specialist and super specialist doctor only on the cost of Rs 20. All Diagnostic and pharmacy facilities are being provided on a non profit basis.   Either  than those  Inhabitants and underprivileged, who are treated free of cost. '
• It's dedicated to the service of Mankind . We are trying to make best use of the expertise team of experienced doctors and Modern Medical Equipments available with us. Since 2003, Prabh Aasra has been a home for those who are suffering from mental illness, intellectual disability or are  devoid of the opportunity of care, treatment and rehabilitation. Over the years, we at Prabh Aasra have come to the conclusion that both groups, the elderly and the young, should be housed in separate, independent wards in order to meet the varying needs of both groups.

We’re excited to announce that Prabh Aasra has planned to create a new facility that can provide shelter, care, food and treatment for 250 elderly members at a time. In doing so, we would resolve any conflicts at the facility AND open more capacity to support the growing need that our elders face.

As you already know Prabh Aasra has been working for the rehabilitation and reunion for helpless unclaimed mentally/ physically challenged, orphans, old aged ailing, widows, and missing citizens since 2003. Presently, more than 400 inhabitants are residing in our society and are under regular treatment.

During Covid, as most of the Government hospitals and OPDs had been shut down for any medical treatments other than Covid cases. The need for the treatment of sick residents and the needy citizens who at that time suffered from some disease or the other, forced us to start emergency medical services.

With the grace of God and help of kind supporters, Prabh Aasra thus commenced the ‘Prabh Aasra Charitable Medical Sewa Center’ (50 bedded hospital).

The FIRST PHASE has been finished by God’s grace and with the help of  supporters like you.  Now the Hospital is facilitating regularly helpless/destitute/ emergencies along with other general public who are served on charitable rates for various treatments.  Our specialist and super specialist doctors are providing daily treatment. With the additional facility of 24/7 Emergency, Lab and pharmacy facility on non Profit basis.

As moving towards the SECOND PHASE of the project, we are trying to start three major OTs, including Ortho and Laparoscopic OT, Eye OT, Gynae OT/ General OT, ICU (6-Bedded), HDU, Labor Wards, NICCU, Oxygen Plant, AHU, CSSD, and also expand our laboratory services for required tests like ABG. This all Project needs your kind support like before. 

Benefits:

With the working of Operation Theaters and Labor wards we will be able to provide more advanced medical services unconditionally to needy and helpless citizens who are devoid of this facility even during the emergency situations.

With this, we will also be able to provide this facility at charitable rates to those who can’t afford the high prices of operations.

Presently the hospital is running at Chanalon, Kurali since February 2021. The area of the hospital is 2360 sq. yds. The hospital was planned to be completed in four phases which are as given below:

Presently  25 specialist and super specialist doctors are working for the hospital of which majority are the visiting doctors. Prabh Aasra Charitable Medical Sewa Center, Chanalon is working on charitable or non Profit basis for the general public. 

2nd Phase of the project started

The rising demand of Public to start the ICU, labor wards and OTs, have made us feel that we should start its Second Phase so that a person can get treated at the minimal cost and unconditional services can be provided to the needy or inhabitants. To move forward and take it to the stage of Super Speciality Hospital we are trying to find some sponsors. Our Second Phase includes following things to be streamlined and purchasing of required medical equipment to start Operation Theaters. In this Project we are focused to start:

• ABG Analyzer (Lab)
• Sluice Areas (2)

Additional requirements:

• To renovate the existing  building. 
• To install manifolds and pipe lines of different gasses. 
• Make a MS structure for the circulation of OTs. 
• Make a centralised AC
• To install required equipment and machines catering to the needs of the people with respect to Eye Ailments.

Covid-19 cases have lead to deteriorating situations in hospitals which are full with Covid positive cases or post Covid symptoms, even refusing treatment of patients suffering from general acute diseases other than Covid which lot of times leads to painful life and death. So, in this painful situation Prabh Aasra had beed forced by these unavoidable circumstances to start the hospital to save the valuable life of citizens. The main motive to start this project is to provide unconditional medical support especially during emergency times and to provide the medical facility at charitable rates to those who can’t afford it.

Here are the list of projects that presently Prabh Aasra is working on:
IPD Services: To provide medical emergency service in night hours also, Prabh Aasra has started the emergency services to treat the helpless and premises needy citizens.
Pharmaceutical Shop: The pharmaceutical chemist shop is also started within hospitals to serve unconditionally to destitute and accidental victims in case of emergency services. The medicines are being served at charitable rates to the needy citizens.
Supplying Oxygen Concentrates: Coronavirus second wave has pushed many people in facing life threatening situations due to COVID-19 symptoms along with a lack of oxygen Concentrators and cylinders supplies. During this hard time, Prabh Aasra is providing  Oxygen Concentrators from time to time to the needy citizens of different areas free of cost.
Shelter Homes: Prabh Aasra is working to provide shelter, care and treatment to the helpless people as well as the children who lost either one or both parental support due to Covid-19 or any other reason where they can live with dignity. Currently running 3 shelter homes (24 X 7) have  inhabitants for more than 393 helpless people staying.
Vaccination Camps: Prabh Aasra has been working in collaboration with the local Government to organize vaccination Camps of Covid-19 for the Inhabitants of Prabh Aasra as well as the general public.

With the help of Dasvandh network and donors we were able to start a healthcare facility on 22nd Feb. 2021 which is a part of our hospital project. Daily average of outdoor patients at our current hospital is 125. Right now we have few specialists like gynecologist,  psychiatrist, eye specialist, dentist and physiotherapist who are providing their services to needy citizens. We have set up a diagnostic centre and emergency minor OT. Unconditional 24/7 ambulance services are available on site. We have also opened a pharmacy on the premises which is providing a great relief to the people in need.
