Why this project matters
Kaur & Singh Vaad Vivaad adapts the widely used Lincoln–Douglas (LD) one-on-one debate model and extends it with a Sikhi-based 5-Value System, so arguments are not only logical but also ethical and community-minded.
The show is a Sikhi-rooted, televised youth debate series in the United States, featuring Sikh high school students debating contemporary and spiritual issues while grounding their reasoning in Sikh principles.
Season 1 aired on Jus Punjabi TV across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Europe, India, and digital platforms, and produced 14 episodes (Curtain Raiser through Grand Finale).
Our plan and use of funds
With your support, Season 2 of Kaur & Singh Vaad Vivaad will expand this groundbreaking youth debate platform to new regions and Khalsa Schools across the United States, while maintaining the professional production standards that made Season 1 a nationally broadcast success.
Every dollar you contribute directly strengthens this movement—training Sikh youth, building high-quality televised content, and amplifying Sikh voices on global media.
Here’s how the funds will be used:
- Production & Filming (30%) — Studio rental, camera and sound crews, lighting, filming of debates, judges’ deliberations, and participant interviews before and after each round.
- Set Design & Stage Setup (10%) — Construction and décor of the professional debate set, including podiums, digital backdrops, and on-stage branding.
- Post-Production (15%) — Video editing, music scoring, motion graphics, and animation for 14 broadcast-ready episodes.
- Student Training & Scholarships (15%) — Debate coaching, leadership development sessions, and travel stipends for participants who need financial support.
- Awards & Recognition (5%) — Trophies, prizes, and certificates to honor top debaters and participating schools.
- Travel & Lodging (10%) — Travel and accommodations for the panel of judges, mentors, and the core production team.
- Meals & Hospitality (5%) — Meals for student participants, their families, and the 50-member support crew during the two-day studio production.
- Marketing & Outreach (7%) — Promotion through social-media campaigns, school partnerships, posters, trailers, and highlight reels before and after the broadcast.
- Technology & Equipment (3%) — Upgrades for livestream capability, closed-captioning, and accessibility tools to reach a wider audience.
Season 2 builds on the proven framework of Season 1—where every element, from set design to mentorship, reflected the spirit of Nirbhau Nirvair and created a national platform for Sikh youth to think deeply, speak courageously, and lead with values.
