Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

My name is Harbaldeep Singh, and I am Executive Director at Nishkam Media. I am in Punjab these days, and over the past few weeks, I’ve been traveling to the Gurdwaras associated with the final journey of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the Chaar Sahibzaade.

We went from Anandpur Sahib to Chamkaur Sahib, then to Fatehgarh Sahib/Sirhind, and then to Machiwara.

And something kept bothering me.

We all grow up hearing these stories. We know them. We feel connected to them. But when you actually go there—when you stand in those places—you realize something is missing.

There is no single documentary that captures this entire journey.

Not the full path. Not the geography. Not the emotional continuity of what really happened across these locations.

Each place tells one part. But no one has stitched it together.

That’s really where this project started.

Why This Matters

When you stand at these Gurdwaras, you don’t just think about history—you feel it.

  • You realize how young the Sahibzaade were.
  • You understand the decisions that were made.
  • You see the distance between these places.

And it changes how you connect to the story.

But most people, especially the younger generation, will never experience this physically.

If we don’t document this properly, in a way that feels real and connected, these stories will slowly become just something we “know”—not something we truly understand.

This project aims to bridge that gap.

What We Are Creating

We are working on a 4-part documentary series that follows this journey across Punjab.

Episode 1: City of Bliss / City of Sacrifice / Anandpur Sahib
Episode 2: The Mud Fort and the Million / Chamkaur Sahib
Episode 3: The Cost of Loyalty  / Fatehgarh Sahib & Sirhind
Episode 4: The Master and the Beloved  / Machiwara

It will cover around 25 historic Gurdwaras—from Anandpur Sahib to Chamkaur Sahib, to Sirhind, and then Machiwara.

We are filming on location, using professional cameras and drones, trying to capture these places as they are today.

We’ve also spent time speaking with the Head Granthis at these Gurdwaras, so the story is not just visual—it is rooted in lived understanding.

The series will be available in English, Punjabi, and Hindi to reach as many people as possible.

How the Funds Will Be Used

We are raising $10,000 to complete the project.

This will go directly into:

  • Filming across multiple locations in Punjab
  • Professional camera and drone work
  • Editing and post-production
  • Background music and sound design
  • Graphics and animation
  • Dubbing in Punjabi, Hindi, and English

We’ve already started the work. This funding is about finishing it properly.

Timeline

Filming is currently in progress
Post-production will take about 2–3 months
We are aiming to release the first episode within the next 3–4 months

How You Can Help

If this resonates with you, I would really appreciate your support.

This is not a large-budget production. It’s a focused effort to create something meaningful and lasting for our community.

You can help by:

  • Contributing to the fundraiser
  • Sharing this with others who might care about this effort

For us at Nishkam Media, this project has been a very personal experience.

Walking this path changes how you see everything.

If we can capture even a small part of that feeling, and pass it on to others—especially to the next generation—it will be worth it.
