The Sidak Leadership Program is a unique, immersive experience that brings together Sikh young adults from diverse backgrounds to learn with and from one another. Rooted in Gurmat, Sidak nurtures the skills and mindset of a lifelong learner—not just in leadership, but across all dimensions of life. For many, it becomes a “game-changer,” expanding their ability to lead with awareness and purpose.
Sidak aspires to make this experience accessible to all Sikh young adults who are interested in it. However, due to current funding and scaling constraints, it may take some time to realize this vision fully. A selection process is in place. All Sikhs aged 18–39 are encouraged to apply; however, with the new fee-free structure, available seats are limited, and the process is competitive.
In 2025, Sidak was offered fee-free. This program integrates Surat (awareness) and Ruh (spirit), guiding participants toward a Guru-centered way of being. Facilitators model these elements, encouraging participants to do the same with depth and intention.
Sidak is designed as an adult learning experience, offering a variety of interactive formats. Participants organize cohort groups, share their ideas, lead discussions, engage deeply with content, and co-create new solutions to current challenges. The model prioritizes active engagement and internal transformation. Facilitators provide structure and guidance, but the real learning unfolds through each participant’s personal journey.
Learning Tracks:
Three tracks serve as the foundations for Sidak:
- Sikhi 101: Introduction to Sikh History and Theology
- Sikhi 201: Religion and Revolution
- Gurbani 101: Introduction to Guru Granth Sahib
Sessions are facilitated by SikhRI facilitators who bring their experiences, education, and passion to the classroom. Sidak Alumni form bonds with each other, and their facilitators inspire them toward education and leadership long after the program ends. This unique learning opportunity will help young adults connect more deeply with their inner selves, build stronger relationships, and infuse the Sikh spirit into their future goals and endeavors.
