SikhNet has long been a trusted platform for sharing Sikh history and values with families across the globe. Over the past few years, we have taken a bold step forward, expanding our animated stories, rhymes, and language content into Punjabi.

This shift has been both intentional and essential. As our mission states, SikhNet exists to inspire and connect people with the heart of Sikhi—wherever they are in the world. But for too long, our English-language content left out a significant part of our global sangat: those who speak and love Punjabi, including children in non-Western countries and young Sikh families seeking to reconnect with their roots.

Today, we are seeing two beautiful trends emerge:
1. Western-born Sikh children are developing a genuine interest in learning Punjabi, their maa boli.
2. Viewership is increasing in regions like India and Southeast Asia, where language was once a barrier to exploring our content.

This fundraiser is about building on this momentum and making Punjabi content a permanent, thriving part of SikhNet Stories.

Why Punjabi?
Punjabi is more than just a language—it is the living, breathing soul of our tradition.
The Guru’s message was spoken and written in Gurmukhi. While translations can help, the spiritual depth of Gurbani is best experienced as is—in the language of the Guru.

Punjabi is the language of the home. If it disappears from our daily lives, especially for children growing up in the diaspora, we risk losing a deep emotional and cultural connection.

Punjabi helps children access Sikhi on their own terms. From singing along with rhymes to understanding sakhi dialogues, it becomes a gateway to belonging and spiritual literacy.
