Empowering Forgotten Sikh Communities
At SAF International, we are committed to bringing hope, education, and development to marginalized Sikh communities, including the Sikligar, Vanjare, and Nepali Sikhs. These communities have been overlooked for far too long, and we're on a mission to make a difference in their lives.
Child Education: We firmly believe in the power of education to transform lives. We work closely with these communities to instill the value of education, and then take concrete steps to ensure children have access to it. This includes enrolling them in local schools and providing support throughout their academic journey. We make a 12-year commitment to each child, covering school fees, transportation, uniforms, and books from grade 1 until they graduate from grade 12.
Community Development: Education is just the beginning. Our work extends to ongoing community development initiatives. We're dedicated to eradicating child marriages and have established programs that provide children with after-school homework assistance. Additionally, we're setting up Gurmat Vidya Kendars, where children can learn about the fundamentals of Sikhi alongside the Panjabi language.
Improving Living Conditions: We're not stopping at education and child welfare. We're also dedicated to enhancing living conditions in these communities. This includes repairing and rebuilding homes when needed, digging water wells to ensure a clean water supply, and addressing any other pressing needs to ensure their survival and flourishing.
