Empowering Forgotten Sikh Communities

At SAF International, we are committed to bringing hope, education, and development to marginalized Sikh communities, including the Sikligar, Vanjare, and Nepali Sikhs. These communities have been overlooked for far too long, and we're on a mission to make a difference in their lives.

Child Education: We firmly believe in the power of education to transform lives. We work closely with these communities to instill the value of education, and then take concrete steps to ensure children have access to it. This includes enrolling them in local schools and providing support throughout their academic journey. We make a 12-year commitment to each child, covering school fees, transportation, uniforms, and books from grade 1 until they graduate from grade 12.

Community Development: Education is just the beginning. Our work extends to ongoing community development initiatives. We're dedicated to eradicating child marriages and have established programs that provide children with after-school homework assistance. Additionally, we're setting up Gurmat Vidya Kendars, where children can learn about the fundamentals of Sikhi alongside the Panjabi language.

Improving Living Conditions: We're not stopping at education and child welfare. We're also dedicated to enhancing living conditions in these communities. This includes repairing and rebuilding homes when needed, digging water wells to ensure a clean water supply, and addressing any other pressing needs to ensure their survival and flourishing.

By supporting SAF International, you're contributing to the transformation of these forgotten Sikh communities. Help us provide them with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to break free from the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future.

Join us in this mission. Your donation can make a real and lasting impact on these often-overlooked communities. Together, we can bring hope, education, and development to the forgotten Sikhs who deserve it most.

Exciting Update on SAF's Community Center Project

We are thrilled to share a significant milestone in our mission to make a positive impact on the lives of children and communities in Nepal. Just in time for the Dusvand Networks double donation campaign, our team has arrived in Nepal for the final selection of a location where our Community Center will be established.

Our envisioned Community Center is designed to be a resilient, earthquake-proof structure that will serve as a hub of learning, growth, and nourishment for the children in the region. Here's a brief overview of what this center will offer:

Panjabi Classes: We will be offering Panjabi classes to help preserve and promote our rich cultural heritage.

Afterschool Tuition: The center will provide afterschool tuition support to help children excel in their studies and reach their full potential.

Breakfast for Children: We believe that a nutritious start to the day is essential for a child's well-being, and our center will provide daily breakfast for the children.

A Place to Call Their Own: Our Community Center will offer a safe and welcoming environment for the children, where they can connect, learn, and grow.

As we take this crucial step forward, we want to express our gratitude for your ongoing support. Your generosity is paramount as SAF begins to expand and make a lasting difference in the lives of these children.

    Measuring Our Success

Our mission to empower forgotten Sikh communities is guided by tangible achievements, and we're proud to share our success stories as evidence of our impact:

Vadodara, Gujarat: From 2017 to 2022, we established a Gurmat & Tuition center in Vadodara. Here, hundreds of children learned Punjabi, Gurbani, and Gatka (which is still ongoing). They received valuable resources for their homework. Young mothers also had the opportunity to learn Punjabi and English. Additionally, we set up a smart class and organized numerous Gurmat camps.

Pachori, Khaknar: Since Fall 2022, we established a Gurmat Vidya Kendar in Pachori, Khaknar, with teachers from Punjab teaching children Punjabi, Keertan, Gatka, and Sikh History. This program will continue until the end of 2024, enriching the lives of many children.

Community Support: In six Sikligar Sikh communities, we built houses and water wells to improve living conditions. SAF International pays school fees for over 200 Sikligar Sikh children, enabling them to attend the best private schools. Many of these children have gone on to receive scholarships and are now in college.

Upcoming Initiatives: We are excited to announce our upcoming Breakfast Club (Gurmat Vidya & Tuition center) in Nepal, set to launch by the end of 2023. For more details on this project, please visit our website once it's operational.

These concrete accomplishments demonstrate the positive and lasting impact of your support for SAF International. Your contributions have already changed lives, and we are committed to continuing this essential work for forgotten Sikh communities.
